Stand Up for Jobs and Pension Reform on October 27
L.A.'s business and civic leaders are going to City Hall next Wednesday morning, Oct. 27, in support of reforming the City's pension system and fostering a stronger business climate for job creation. We need your voice and participation!
ACCESS L.A. City Hall will feature a plenary session in City Council Chambers with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Controller Wendy Greuel, City Attorney Carmen Trutanich and City Council President Eric Garcetti. Following their remarks, make your voice heard at the L.A. City Council meeting at 10 a.m., where the Chamber will present our 2010 L.A. City Council Jobs Report and urge bold action on needed reforms.
The timing for next week's event is critical. A growing coalition of business and civic leaders are committed to making sure the City enacts meaningful pension reforms. These reforms are absolutely necessary to ensure that the City of Los Angeles can continue to provide the vital services that we deserve at costs residents can afford.
Last week, the Civic Alliance – a coalition of business and community leaders including the Chamber – sent a letter to city leaders calling for stronger reform. Our elected officials need to hear from you in support of these important, but difficult decisions.
Join us on Oct. 27 and together we can make a positive difference in our city's future.
And that's The Business Perspective.
