Candace Allen Nafissi is the Education & Policy Manager for the L.A. Area Chamber. In this role, she helps the business community advocate for public and private investments in early learning to ensure a stable foundation whereby creating a 21st century skilled workforce.
Additionally, as part of the Chambers legislative commitments, Nafissi manages the work life balance portfolio with hopes to engage the business community. Nafissi serves on the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Early Childhood Education & Parent Engagement Committee. In 2017, she was appointed by Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand to serve on the Redondo Beach Library Commission and appointed by L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn to the L.A. County Children and Families Commission.
Prior to her current role, Nafissi worked for Pediatric Therapy Network’s federal Early Head Start program as a Community Partnership Manager and was a former South Bay district representative for former Assemblymember (now Congressman) Ted Lieu.
Nafissi received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and a master’s in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach.
Nafissi serves as a PTA member for Tulita Elementary School and is a Hands on Art docent. She is living happily ever after with her husband Joe, an LAPD Officer, their two sons, Kian, 5, and Kamran, 2, and their poodle, Mahi. The family resides in Redondo Beach.
