Prior to her position with the Chamber's Smart Justice efforts, Emily Blake supported all L.A. Compact workgroups in an effort to drive educational systems change and improve student outcomes through a cross-sector, collective impact, constellation model approach. Blake joined UNITE-LA in 2015, where she provided strategy, facilitation, development, and communications support to the L.A. Compact. Previously, Blake led a consulting firm cultivating cross sector partnerships to advance social justice and education solutions. Prior to consulting, she strengthened a community-based reentry component to an arts education after school program for incarcerated youth, embedding pathways to higher education as paramount in programming at the community center she ran in South LA for juvenile justice involved, transitional aged youth. Blake holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and received her Master of Social Welfare with an emphasis in Organizations, Communities, and Policy Settings from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
