Since 2015, Business Email Compromise (BEC) scams, defined as sophisticated crimes targeting businesses working with foreign suppliers and/or businesses that regularly perform wire transfer payments, has increased by 1,300 percent, according to the FBI. Scams have been reported by victims in all 50 states and in 100 countries.
