Councilwoman Nury Martinez joins our Energy, Water & Environmental Sustainability Council for its final meeting of the year. In 2013, Councilwoman Martinez was elected to represent Los Angeles City Council District 6, which includes the San Fernando Valley, North Hollywood and Van Nuys. She chairs the Energy, Climate Change and Environmental Justice Committee, which oversees a variety of policies relating to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), wastewater, sanitation and a host of other issues. She will recap the work the Committee engaged on in 2018, and discuss priorities for next year and how the business community can partner on relevant issues.

We will also hear from LADWP's General Manager David Wright about the 100 Percent Renewable Energy Study. The study was launched in fall 2017 and will serve as a guide to LADWP investments as the organization pursues a 100 percent renewable energy portfolio. Wright will provide an overview of the study, the different scenarios under study and what it means for LADWP and its ratepayers.

The Energy, Water & Environmental Sustainability Council focuses on actions to spur clean and green tech innovations, ensure cost-effective water and power delivery, and promote economic growth through sustainable, pro-jobs energy and environmental policies.

All Council meetings are open to Chamber members only. Media and guests are only allowed with prior approval.
