Join us in November for the final meeting of the Land Use, Construction & Housing Council and the Transportation & Goods Movement Council, focusing on transportation-oriented communities. We will be hearing from both the City of Los Angeles and Metro on their complimentary transportation-oriented communities efforts. The City's Planning Department will discuss their initiatives, specifically the Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) Ordinance, designed to encourage housing density in transit-rich areas.

Early in 2018, Metro also began developing its own set of policies to guide TOC developments as part of Measure M corridor projects. Jenna Hornstock, Metro's executive officer of transit oriented communities, will discuss their innovative efforts.

The Land Use, Construction & Housing Council advocates for policies and programs that create sustainable, economically robust communities through smart growth planning, public-private partnerships and investment in congestion relief solutions. This also includes a special focus on building more workforce housing, reforming the city's planning and permitting process, strengthening our public transportation system and addressing Los Angeles County's homelessness crisis.

The Transportation & Goods Movement Council addresses all issues related to our region's mobility - highway, rail, air and transit. The Council advocates on federal, state and local issues and champions positions that will provide system-wide, regional solutions. The Council highlights the importance of transportation and goods movement to the region and nation's economy, while encouraging balanced and sustainable communities.

All Council meetings are open to Chamber members only. Media and guests are only allowed with prior approval.
