With offices in Oakland, Long Beach and Seattle, the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association (PMSA) is a West Coast maritime trade association representing ocean carriers and marine terminal operators on a variety of local, state and federal issues. PMSA is positioned to be at the front lines as companies shift their strategies following the changing trends.

Issues like the U.S.-China trade friction and other trade disputes have impacted the shipping industry with future consequences and possible long-term implications. Furthermore, domestic issues such as environmental policy, government regulations, cost of fuel and labor affect activity at Southern California ports.

Please join the Global Initiatives Council to hear from John McLaurin, president of PMSA, as he sheds light on the consolidation trends in the shipping industry in response to the challenges presented by the global economic and political environment.

The Global Initiatives Council works to create employment opportunities throughout Southern California by increasing exports, imports and foreign investment for companies of all sizes, and for the communities in which they conduct business.

Special Guest:
John McLaurin
President
