Join the Health Care policy council to welcome Dr. Muntu Davis, the L.A. County Health Officer for the Department of Public Health. Dr. Davis was sworn in July 2018 and has been serving as County's medical expert regarding public health matters, where he provides guidance and direction to leadership across the Department of Public Health. Working in partnership with colleagues and health professional organizations, he consults on, interprets, and enforces county and state laws and regulations to protect and promote the health and wellness of all county residents.
There will also be a presentation from the Los Angeles County Community Collaborative (LAC3) that was recently formed in response to the nation's opioid crisis. LAC3 is an asset-based, multi-sector community collaborative with an infrastructure designed to amplify existing efforts within the public/private sector and promote innovation to serve all of Los Angeles County. Leadership support for LAC3 comes from the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors and a groundbreaking partnership between the county's public health and mental health departments, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation.
We will also summarize our recent ACCESS Sacramento trip and identify priorities for the rest of year.
