The Nonprofit Council provides nonprofit member organizations with a venue to network, exchange ideas, collaborate and discuss public policy issues impacting the nonprofit community.
Today, the nonprofit sector amounts to more than 11.4 million jobs in the United States—that’s 10 percent of private sector employment, with employment growing steadily even during the recession.
Council members benefit from:
- Collaboration between nonprofit organizations and the L.A. business community
- Increased voice in the Chamber advocacy agenda
- Access to educational and developmental opportunities on topics related to nonprofit organizations
- A platform to publicize volunteer opportunities and access to volunteers
- Increased awareness within the L.A. business community

The 2020 Census: Representing Your Community
Tuesday, Nov. 27
7:45 - 9:30 a.m.
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census provides a snapshot of our population, impacting policy and funding priorities for the coming decade. Getting a complete population count has real impact.
Because our diverse state is the hardest to count in the nation, state and local government as well as philanthropic, community and business groups are joining forces to do everything in their power to make sure that the 2020 Census is accurate. At the next Nonprofit Council, find out what efforts are underway with Maria de la Luz Garcia from the Mayor's Office of Budget and Innovation and Tina Marquez Herzog from the County of Los Angeles. Learn how you and your organization can get involved after the campaign kickoff in October.
