The Chamber, in partnership with the Mexico City Initiative, hosted a high level delegation representing private and public entities in September. Former Mayor of Mexico City Cuauhtemoc Cardenas and current Director General of International Affairs represented Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera. The luncheon highlighted the strong cultural, commercial and educational ties between Los Angeles and Mexico City.
Twelve senior business executives and members of the IACC discussed their commercial and industrial interest in buying, selling and investing with regional firms. The main industries covered were aerospace and the defense sectors. Established in 1968, IACC is the only bi-lateral Chamber in India promoting Indo-U.S. economic engagement.
The L.A. World Trade Week Committee and the Port of Los Angeles invited students for a unique opportunity to learn about key concepts of global trade, career pathways and cultural differences at the nation's busiest port. Business executives, trade representatives and staff engaged with students through an interactive day of activities. Students and faculty participated in a one hour boat tour and were able to browse exhibits by local colleges and universities providing global trade programs.
