03.12.19 CHIRLA HR6 Press Conference at City Hall

On Tuesday in the nation's capital, Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard led the introduction of HR6, the Dream and Promise Act of 2019, that would grant young, undocumented immigrants (DACA recipients and DREAMers) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients an opportunity to acquire full, U.S. permanent residency if they meet certain requirements. Locally, the same day, the Chamber joined the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) and other community advocates on the steps of L.A. City Hall in support of this legislation.

The Center for Global Trade & Foreign Investment, in partnership with the Dubai Investment Development Agency and Dubai FDI, hosted a high-level business delegation to learn about the innovation-driven economy of Dubai.

Nearly 30 members of the Chamber's Diplomatic & Commercial Officers Group met with senior representatives from the California State Board of Food and Agriculture this week to learn about the state's agriculture sector, international strategies department and best practices for agricultural exports and imports.

California Transportation Commission (CTC) Executive Director Susan Bransen discussed steps to ensure accountability for SB 1 funding, CTC's work with Gov. Newsom's administration and joint meetings with the California Air Resources Board.
