On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Center for Education Excellence & Talent Development (UNITE-LA) co-facilitated a discussion on regional talent development at the eighth annual California Economic Summit in Fresno, CA.
The Chamber and guests met with leaders from the public and private sector for the sixth annual State of L.A. Infrastructure. The half-day summit featured leaders throughout the region to focus upon smart cities, resilient infrastructure and the strategies that Los Angeles will need to employ to be prepared.
His Excellency Thani Thongphakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S, visited the Chamber to meet with President & CEO Maria S. Salinas and Board Chair Jerry Neuman to discuss Thailand's economic policies and trade and investment opportunities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), ACMES and ASEAN countries.
The Chamber held its annual Board of Directors Retreat at Terranea Resort. Phil Ansell, who leads the County’s Homeless Initiative, provided oversight and guidance on deploying Measure H funds for 21 interconnected strategies to prevent and combat homelessness.

The Chamber held a joint Innovation & Technology and Government & Fiscal Affairs Council focused on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), slated to go into effect January 2020, with the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Privacy and Consumer Privacy, Assemblymember Ed Chau.
