Twelve senior business executives and members of the IACC discussed their commercial and industrial interest in buying, selling and investing with regional firms. The main industries covered were aerospace and the defense sectors. Established in 1968, IACC is the only bi-lateral Chamber in India promoting Indo-U.S. economic engagement.
The Chamber's professional staff showed their support for building more housing in L.A. County by spending Thursday working on four Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles houses in Long Beach. The staff also met with one of the families that will be buying one of the units.
Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben provided the business perspective at an Infrastructure Roundtable hosted by Congressman Jimmy Gomez at Union Station. Toebben spoke alongside California political and community leaders including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sup. Hilda Solis, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, Ron Miller of the L.A./O.C. Trades Council, Metro CEO Phil Washington, and Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka. The roundtable focused on procuring funding to fix and modernize California's roads, bridges and transit systems.
