LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce applauds the Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Directors for their unanimous vote to support Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s 30/10 transportation initiative.
“This innovative plan is exactly what L.A. County needs to create jobs, improve mobility and protect our environment. That’s why the L.A. Area Chamber partnered with Mayor Villaraigosa and fellow stakeholders to advocate for 30/10 back in Washington, D.C. and here in our region,” said L.A. Area Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben.
The 30/10 transportation initiative, which aims to complete the 12 largest transit projects including in the 30-year Measure R within the next 10 years, would create thousands of jobs, speed up traffic relief and reduce pollution without adding to the federal deficit or placing federal tax dollars at risk.
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of business in L.A. County. Founded in 1888, the Chamber promotes a prosperous economy and quality of life in the Los Angeles region. For more information, visit www.lachamber.com.
