Hello friend --
Bixel Exchange and Snap Inc. celebrate Snap Design Academy Final Showcase
On Aug. 8, Bixel Exchange and Snap Inc. hosted the Snap Design Academy Final Showcase, where our 20 students from L.A. area community colleges took to the stage for the last time to present their projects to their families, friends and colleagues. As a part of the program, the students partnered with five local nonprofit organizations to see how the Snap platform could help their causes garner more attention and potentially more support. Earlier in the week, five of our Startup LAunch Tech SBDC advisors mentored the students on how to refine their presentations, bringing the power of collaboration to the forefront of what Bixel Exchange does on a regular basis.

Startup LAunch's Elianne Rodriguez judges Rio Hondo's Summer Entrepreneurial Camp
On Aug. 2, Startup LAunch Tech SBDC Operations & Community Coordinator, Elianne Rodriguez, was invited to judge Rio Hondo College’s first Summer Entrepreneurial Camp, hosted in partnership with Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Local high school students were invited to participate in this week-long, intensive boot camp where they were challenged to solve a problem, design a business plan and pitch it to 11 judges. Ideas included breakfast delivery services, more durable sneakers and social enterprises looking to tackle homelessness. Our Startup LAunch team is passionate about fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem and is always looking to support programs like the one at Rio Hondo. It takes a village to grow a startup, so if you have a program that needs support please email Elianne!
