She also met with Isabel Casillas Guzman, a #techSBDC partner and the new director of the Office of Small Business Advocate in the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (CA GO-Biz). Bixel Exchange partners with Snap Inc. for Snap CAMP Teen Summit
On May 8, Bixel Exchange's L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline and Snap Inc. hosted Birmingham, John F. Kennedy and Taft High School students for Snap CAMP Teen Summit in Santa Monica, CA. The day-long, career exploration event introduced high school students from the L.A. region to three immersive workshops: Augmented Reality with Snap Lens, Building Games with Snap Games and Product Design with Spectacles. After the workshops, the students spent the afternoon doing speed networking with Snap employees, and learned about the career pathways and day-to-day responsibilities across 15 various tech careers at Snap. After the event, one teacher shared, “The impact the Snap CAMP Teen Summit had on [the students] is immeasurable. Several of the girls signed up for my computer science class when we got back to school. I've been trying for six months to get them to agree. It was their experience Wednesday that pushed them to enroll.”
