CALIFORNIA MANUFACTURING, EXPORTS AND JOBS. Manufacturing creates a significant "ripple effect as it goes through the supply chain," said Ross DeVol at the Chamber's recent Global Initiatives Council meeting. DeVol, the executive director of economic research and executive director of the Center for Health Economics, Regional Economics and California at the Milken Institute, noted that for every one job created in manufacturing, 2.5 jobs are created elsewhere. Chamber meets with delegation from Singapore
Several representatives of chambers of commerce, trade associations, industry associations and educational institutions from Singapore recently met with Chamber Senior Vice President of Global Initiatives Carlos J. Valderrama. Their objective in visiting the Chamber was to explore mutually beneficial programs to benefit exporters and importers of Southern California and Singapore.
