Chamber-supported Measure R project to begin construction
The Metro Board of Directors recently certified the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor, one of the Chamber-supported Measure R projects. The 8.5-mile light rail project now advances into the construction phase and is estimated to create 15,100 direct jobs. The project, which could open by 2018, will connect the Metro Green Line and the Expo Line currently under construction, providing critical linkages for the region's residents, employees, and national and international visitors. Last year, the project received a $546 million TIFIA loan from the federal government. The Chamber continues to advocate for the expansion of the TIFIA program as a component of the America Fast Forward initiative. Contact Jessica Duboff, 213.580.7558.
