PROGRESS DENIED: HOW RED TAPE IS COSTING JOBS
As part of its Project No Project initiative, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released an economic study identifying 351 stalled energy projects nationwide that are costing the American economy $1.1 trillion and 1.9 million jobs a year. The study estimates the potential loss of investment and jobs in the proposed solar, renewable, coal, natural gas, nuclear and transmission projects in 49 states that have been delayed or canceled. Read more from U.S. Chamber President & CEO Tom Donohue. As part of the L.A. Area Chamber's ACCESS Sacramento agenda, we will be advocating for improvements to CEQA, which will help projects move forward at the state level.

Southern California Leadership Network to expand and launch new programs
The Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN) is partnering with the California Community Foundation over the next two years. SCLN will expand its Global Connections program and launch the New American Leaders Fellowship. The programs will serve to engage civic leaders like you around issues related to Southern California's rich ethnic and immigrant diversity. The expanded Global Connections program will provide experiential learning opportunities to inform leaders and foster cross-cultural collaboration around the extensive cultural, political and economic ties our region has to the rest of the world. The New American Leaders Fellowship will provide the opportunity to first- and second-generation Americans to develop leadership skills that create leaders within singular communities, and create new generations of stakeholders in the well being of our entire region. Chamber members are encouraged to get involved with this effort. Contact Alexander Pampalone, 213.580.7547.
