THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM CASH FOR COLLEGE WORKSHOPS On Saturday, the Chamber and its Cash for College partners hosted more than 40 financial aid completion workshops across Los Angeles County. Thousands of students, many of whom aspire to be the first in their families to attend college, received one-on-one assistance from hundreds of volunteers in submitting their financial aid applications. The Chamber will be hosting more workshops before the March 2 financial aid deadline. To volunteer or for more information, contact Paola Santana, 213.580.7586. County accepting stormwater parcel fee protests by email Property owners who wish to oppose the Clean Water, Clean Beaches Ballot Measure — a parcel fee that would raise $295 million per year to treat storm water and urban runoff pollution — can email the L.A. County. The Chamber helped delay action on the measure because it lacked the proper process for public input, critical transparency and accounting standards. The measure is tentatively scheduled to be reconsidered on March 12. Contact Frank Lopez, 213.580.7573.
