ACCESS L.A. is designed to foster engagement between local business leaders, and elected officials and administrators. This year’s delegation included a diverse range of stakeholders, including leaders from small businesses, large enterprises, and community-based organizations.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE EVENT

Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and Board Chair George L. Pla opened the program with welcome remarks. The Chamber was honored to be welcomed by Mayor Karen Bass at a pivotal moment for the region, with unprecedented investment on the horizon. The day continued with an engaging panel featuring Wendy Greuel, National Advisor at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP; Dr. Fernando Guerra, Professor of Political Science and Chicana/o Latina/o Studies and Founding Director of the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles; and Zev Yaroslavsky, Director of the Los Angeles Initiative at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs—setting the stage for meaningful discussions during legislative meetings with elected officials.

ACCESS L.A. offered a vital platform for business leaders and policymakers to engage on local policies shaping the region’s future. Today’s decisions are crucial for building a strong foundation for growth and fostering collaboration between the business community and the public sector. The ACCESS L.A. Advocacy Agenda highlights the key topics addressed during these meetings.

Discussions addressed critical issues affecting Los Angeles's business landscape, including housing and homelessness, public safety and city service delivery, infrastructure investments, and regional economic growth and workforce development.
