EDUCATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ▼

The Education & Workforce Development Policy Council convenes local business leaders interested in partnering with educators in an effort to improve public education, expand access to higher education and develop a 21st century workforce capable of competing in a global economy. As a result of the current economic climate, the Council is focused on boosting job recovery for today's workforce while preparing future generations of workers.

 

ENERGY, WATER & ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY ▼

The Energy, Water & Environmental Sustainability Council focuses on advancing cost-effective policies and programs that ensure reliable and affordable water and energy delivery, improve air quality, promote economic growth and address climate change in Los Angeles through the local development of technologies, businesses and jobs.

 

GOVERNMENT & FISCAL AFFAIRS ▼

The Government & Fiscal Affairs Council serves as the Chamber's primary committee to evaluate legislation and policies that affect the broad business community and civic life including taxes, regulations and government reforms.

 

GLOBAL TRADE & FOREIGN INVESTMENT ▼

The Global Trade & Foreign Investment Council works to develop programs and events to promote global trade and investment to create regional employment.

 

HEALTH CARE ▼

The Health Care Council of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is a leader in providing the business perspective on key health care issues. The Council supports reform efforts that promote shared responsibility for health care financing, expand access to coverage and quality care and create health professional workforce opportunities.

 

INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY ▼

The Innovation & Technology Council identifies and engages with business clusters that have economic growth potential — including signature, emerging and innovative industry groups. The Council aims to promote policies that will strengthen these industries, elevate their global reach, drive job creation and regional economic prosperity.

 

LAND USE, CONSTRUCTION & HOUSING ▼

The Land Use, Construction & Housing Council advocates for planning policies and programs that create sustainable, economically robust communities through smart growth tools, incentive based affordable housing development, reforming the city’s planning and permitting process, addressing L.A. County’s homelessness crisis, improving environmental sustainability, and enhancing the quality of life and connectedness of our region.

 

TRANSPORTATION & GOODS MOVEMENT ▼

The Transportation & Goods Movement Council addresses all issues related to our region’s mobility — highway, rail, air and transit. The council advocates on federal, state and local issues and champions positions that will provide system-wide, regional solutions. The council highlights the importance of transportation and goods movement to the region and nation’s economy, while encouraging balanced and sustainable communities.

 

TRAVEL, TOURISM & SPORTS ▼

The Travel, Tourism, and Sports Council brings together influential stakeholders to collaborate on initiatives that support the tourism industry in Los Angeles. The Council’s mission is to advance Los Angeles’ role as a powerful and dynamic region integral to the global economy.

 

WOMEN'S COUNCIL ▼

The Women’s Council of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce advocates to support the immediate and ongoing needs of women in all business sectors and industries, as they navigate entry and re-entry into the workforce. When women thrive, the economy grows. The Council is committed in addressing barriers that keep women from fully participating in our economy. At this moment in time, the Women’s Policy Council will serve women as we enter a new era in our world.

Advocacy Trips

The Chamber's ACCESS events are an opportunity for members to advocate directly with federal, state, and local elected officials. The annual ACCESS: D.C. trip is the region's premier federal advocacy event.  Each year, ACCESS events connect businesses with policymakers and elected officials on the issues that matter most.
