Stand Up for Our City Tomorrow at ACCESS L.A. City Hall
More than 200 of L.A.'s business and civic leaders will be at Los Angeles City Hall tomorrow for our annual member advocacy day, ACCESS City Hall. The focus will be a targeted agenda of steps that the City of Los Angeles can take to improve our business climate and encourage the creation of new jobs.
In addition to hosting Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Controller Wendy Greuel and City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, the Chamber will present to the City Council our 2010 L.A. City Council Districts Jobs Report.
The Jobs Report compares key economic indicators for each of L.A.'s 15 City Council districts. The data includes analysis of total jobs, job growth, average wages, tax revenue and new building permits – all important data to understand the health of our city's economy.
This report is a first because we broke down existing city and county data by Council district. Over the past few weeks, we've been meeting with Councilmembers to share our findings and talk about how we can use this data to move forward with economic development efforts in their districts. The response has been fantastic.
Take a moment and review the report to see where your district stands in terms of job creation. And, we hope you will join us tomorrow at City Hall to advocate for more business-friendly policies and job growth in Los Angeles.
And that's The Business Perspective.
