Lift Your Voice in Sacramento Next Week
March 21, 2017
by Gary Toebben
While the daily headlines are focused on Washington, D.C. administrative and legislative proposals, the L.A. business community understands that what happens in Sacramento has a direct impact on jobs and profitability. That's why the Chamber is looking forward to interacting with California's top elected leadership in Sacramento next week.
That leadership includes Gov. Jerry Brown, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Senate President pro Tem Kevin de Leon, Senator Bob Hertzberg, Chair of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, Assembly Minority Leader Chad Mayes and Brian Kelly, Secretary of the California Transportation Agency.
The visit by the 80+ member delegation will begin with a reception and dinner with legislators on Tuesday evening, March 28 and continue with keynote speakers and visits with legislators and agencies on Wednesday, March 29. Teams of delegates will advocate across 10 issue areas including transportation, housing, energy and water reliability, health care and developing a world class cradle-to-career education system. See full agenda here.
This is a vital time for us to engage - to show support for legislation that will help L.A. thrive, and to work with members of the legislature to improve or find alternatives for bills we oppose. Register to join us next week to interact with state leaders and walk the halls of the Capitol. Your business and our community will both benefit.
And that's The Business Perspective.
