Southern California Leadership Network’s Leadership L.A. (LLA) Class of 2019 launched last week with a two-day orientation. The class of 53 includes leaders from Chamber members SoCalGas, First 5 LA, Kaiser Permanente, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and Southern California Edison, as well as long-time partners including NBCUniversal, Metro and many more. During orientation, fellows explored the history of Los Angeles County and took a deep dive into L.A. City and County government with Dr. Raphael Sonenshein, executive director of the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs.

The class also began their personal leadership development with Dr. Kevin Groves from Pepperdine University, who will be guiding them through a 360 Leadership Assessment and the creation of their Personal Leadership Development Plan. Alumni from City National Rochdale and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center shared their experience with the fellows and how they are applying what they learned since graduation. For the next seven months, the Class of 2019 will take a deep dive into the issues, systems, trends, challenges and solutions shaping L.A. County, as well as the approaches for driving change in the region. SEE THE PHOTOS.
