On March 22, the Chamber visited Los Angeles City College and met with President Mary Gallagher for a business and community gathering as a part of our year-long "L.A. Connects" listening tour. The discussion focused on the health care workforce pipeline and how the college is working to prepare its students to meet industry needs. Gallagher was joined by Chamber President & CEO Maria S. Salinas and David Rattray, executive vice president, Center for Education Excellence & Talent Development.
"Beyond the traditional health care environment of techs and nurses, there are IT, operations and all kinds of positions in need. We can fill that need," said Gallagher.
The college is celebrating its 90th year and has a bold plan for preparing students to thrive in the workforce. See the photos.
