Chamber leads efforts to address inequities in the health care and tech workforce talent pipeline

On March 30, the Chamber hosted our first ever interview day for our L.A. Health Care and Tech Talent Pipeline programs at the Vernon-Central YouthSource Center in South L.A., in partnership with the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD). Thirty five opportunity youth, including foster and transition-aged youth, participated in mock interviews for paid summer internship opportunities with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Snap Inc. and other companies. This event is part of a broader portfolio of work to advance the Chamber’s commitment to creating workforce pipelines in L.A.’s high-growth regional industries, such as health care and technology, that is inclusive and representative of our local, diverse and underserved communities. This work would not be possible without the partnership of foster youth-serving agencies and programs such as the Guardian Scholars programs, and the support of the Pritzker Foster Care Initiative and the Aspen Institute.
