Building our Relationships in Sacramento

When it comes to advocating on behalf of the Los Angeles business community, some of the strongest tools we have are our relationships with elected officials and policy makers. Last week, as we traveled with more than 80 Chamber members to Sacramento for our annual ACCESS Sacramento advocacy trip, building relationships with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new administration was our top priority.

Whether in a fireside chat with the Governor’s Chief of Staff Ann O’Leary; a panel conversation with some of his top advisors on education, global, health and human services, small business and strategic affairs; or engaging with other elected leaders in more than 50 one on one meetings, this Chamber is working strengthen the relationships we need to move our region forward and create a truly business-friendly L.A.

Here’s a quick recap of our trip:

We know that our work in Sacramento isn't finished with just one visit. Instead, we'll work to continue to strengthen and build on those relationships throughout the year by engaging on important topics, serving on committees and returning for face to face meetings to advocate on behalf of L.A.

And that's The Business Perspective
