Chamber applauds House passage of the Dream and Promise Act; focus shifts to Senate

The Chamber applauds the House of Representatives and the Southern California Congressional members who voted in support of the Dream and Promise Act (HR 6) which passed the House on Tuesday. The Chamber has long supported enacting protections for DREAMers and preserving the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and Temporary Protected Status to eligible individuals, a central theme of the Chamber’s annual advocacy trip to Washington D.C. The focus now shifts to the Senate, where the DREAM Act and Secure Act, offering similar protections as the House bill, have already been introduced.
