Policy Manager Kendal Asuncion spoke at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting on the OurCounty Sustainability Plan. Asuncion highlighted areas that the Chamber and County overlapped, including increased housing, improving water quality and investing in transportation infrastructure. She also commended the plan’s inclusion of an economic assessment for forthcoming policies based on the plan, and indicated that there are still areas the Chamber is concerned about. These are notably the plan’s call for a fossil fuel-free future and certain housing elements, which the Chamber would like to work with the County on. After a presentation from Chief Sustainability Officer Gary Gero and public comment, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt the OurCounty Plan.
