Chamber hosts ACCESS L.A. City Hall

The Chamber hosted a delegation at City Hall during the annual ACCESS L.A. City Hall advocacy trip. The event featured the presentation of the 10th Annual City Council Districts Economic Report, in partnership with Beacon Economics, which addresses and compares key economic indicators for each of Los Angeles' 15 city council districts. The Chamber's advocacy agenda focused on the key areas of:

  • Fostering public policy to support business growth.
  • Increasing affordable housing opportunities.
  • Supporting trade, travel and tourism – the economic drivers of our global city.
  • Collaborating on water and energy initiatives for a sustainable city.
  • Increasing partnerships to ensure a quality public education system from cradle to career.

Following the City Council meeting, the Chamber hosted an evening reception convening the business community, L.A. City elected officials and policymakers to engage in a dialogue regarding the region's economic prosperity and other important issues. Speakers included Councilmembers Mitch O'Farrell, Paul Krekorian and Monica Rodriguez; L.A. City Controller Ron Galperin; L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer; Adel Hagekhalil, general manager of the Bureau of Street Services; and Board of Public Works Commissioners Aura Garcia and Jessica Caloza.
