Chamber discusses California Consumer Privacy Act

The Chamber held a joint Innovation & Technology and Government & Fiscal Affairs Council focused on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), slated to go into effect January 2020, with the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Privacy and Consumer Privacy, Assemblymember Ed Chau. The Assemblymember presented on the history, components and upcoming regulations on the CCPA. He also led a lively discussion regarding the CCPA's compliance and impacts to businesses, and the potential of another ballot initiative tackling privacy in next year's election.

Bixel Exchange, the Chamber's Center for Innovation & Technology, also gave a quick update on its Startup LAunch and L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline programs, while the policy team gave a brief policy update on state bills. SEE THE PHOTOS.
