California's Legislative Session Comes to a Close

It's been a busy legislative season in Sacramento. Through our policy work, we ensure that the voice of business is heard in the state capital and represented in the legislative process. We work with our state legislators to understand their proposals and speak to the impact on our economy and job creation.

We focused much of our advocacy on ensuring that state legislative actions will sustain our economy, provide certainty for employers, expand housing, improve our infrastructure and strengthen our educational system.

We advocated for stronger investments in the bioscience industry and keeping the business community engaged in the conversation around expansion of Paid Parental Leave, and we supported streamlining processes to make it easier to build housing and options to fund housing projects. We supported transportation investments that address congestion and mobility issues that impact the flow of people and goods in our region.

We were able to advocate against multiple bills that would stifle economic growth. And, as bills landed on the Governor's desk, we continued our advocacy work to support legislation that expands our economy.

It has been a long legislative session, and we thank our State Assemblymembers and Senators for their hard work and commitment to California.
