Accenture Pancakes & Politics hosts L.A. County Homeless Initiative Director

The Chamber was joined by Phil Ansell, who leads Los Angeles County's Homeless Initiative. The Homeless Initiative provides oversight and guidance to deploy Measure H funds for 21 interconnected strategies to prevent and combat homelessness. Ansell walked through the work being done: more than 19,500 individuals and family members have been newly engaged by outreach teams; more than 31,800 individuals have entered crisis, bridge and interim housing funded in whole or part by Measure H; and more than 16,000 individuals secured permanent housing specifically through funding from Measure H. He did, however, make clear the foundational issues within the system and the challenge of the inflow of homeless individuals rising at a faster rate than L.A. is able to place into shelter. The Chamber has been a champion for homeless initiatives for more than 11 years and continues to work daily on the challenges facing the homeless. SEE THE PHOTOS.
