Bixel on the Road

Center for Innovation & Technology

January 31, 2020

Bixel Exchange hosted events in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills in support of their two programs, the L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline and Startup LAunch Tech SBDC.

Bixel Exchange's L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline program teamed up with Cornerstone OnDemand to provide students with a day of mock interviews, networking with industry professionals and a tech talent journey panel. Attendees heard from Cornerstone’s Director of Strategic Program Management Paya Shah and Product Manager Eliot Sosa, as well as Gillette Nevado, a long-time Pipeline participant who is now interning at the company. They shared their personal journeys overcoming barriers and challenging norms.

The Startup LAunch Tech SBDC also partnered with Cross Campus Beverly Hills to host office hours for their startups. Startup founders in the program had the opportunity to get one-on-one advice from advisors on how to grow and stay on track for success. Over the course of six hours, there were 23 advising sessions with four advisors and 13 startups.

Bixel Exchange continues to bring underrepresented students and startup founders free access to opportunities and connections in L.A. tech.
