The Chamber partnered with Microsoft and The Brookings Institution to host a salon-style conversation with 50 influencers on artificial intelligence and its impacts on the future workforce. The discussion focused on myths and facts on AI and its effects on the U.S. labor market, particularly focused on Los Angeles. Some 75 million jobs around the globe will be displaced by AI in 2022, and the event addressed the skill sets that organizations and employees will need for the estimated 100 million new jobs that will be created as a result of emerging technology.

Speakers included Celeste Alleyne, Microsoft; Mark Muro, The Brookings Institution; Martin Breidsprecher and Lindsey Heisser, L.A. Area Chamber; Elise Hu, NPR; Naria Santa Lucia, Microsoft Philanthropies; Rick Hodge, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College; and Brandon Nicholson, The Hidden Genius. SEE THE PHOTOS.
