Economic Inclusion: The Tech Factor

Center for Global Trade & Foreign Investment

February 27, 2020

Last week, the Chamber partnered with the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) for a dialogue on how tech can be leveraged for economic inclusion. The event brought together venture capitalists, researchers, developers and entrepreneurs to examine access to growing digital infrastructure, and explore the potential of accelerators for inclusion and the future of innovation toward economic justice. Patrick Schaefer, Senior Vice President of the Center for Global Trade & Foreign Investment, provided welcome remarks. Additional speakers included Sandra Baer, Personal Cities; Zithri Ahmed Saleem, University of Washington; Kathryn Mullins, Spin; Michael Balaoing, Candlelion LLC; Dr. Linda Lopez, Team Bloomberg; and keynote speaker Beatriz Acevedo, PledgeLA.

This event was part of a series of conversations leading up to GMF's 2020 Inclusive Leadership Summit.
