Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Alma Salazar

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved colleague and phenomenal woman. Dr. Alma Salazar served as the Executive Vice President of UNITE-LA and worked as a part of the Chamber team from 2000 - 2020.

Dr. Salazar worked tirelessly on education initiatives and policies to build business-education partnerships in addition to access to learning and career opportunities for all California students. She was a giant in the education field, recognized nationally for her expertise.

Our sincerest condolences go out to her family -- her six-year-old son, Noah, and partner, Gene -- and to her UNITE-LA family, that will continue her legacy by forging ahead with the important work in education and workforce development.

UNITE-LA will be establishing a scholarship in her name. If you would like to make a contribution, please complete this form to receive information.
