Our Voice in Our Nation's Capital

Business, education, civic and community leaders from across the greater Los Angeles region joined the Chamber’s delegation visit to Washington D.C. for ACCESS D.C., our annual federal advocacy trip.

It was an inspiring two days of meetings with Biden-Harris Administration officials, members of Congress, and public policy experts. We addressed a variety of topics from investments in infrastructure, housing, energy transition, workforce, and education. Our advocacy agenda focused on enhancing California’s economic competitiveness ahead of major global events like the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Board Chair Janet Lamkin joined me in leading the delegation to lend our voice and bring focus to the needs of the Southern California region. Members of our delegation heard from top officials, some highlights include:

  • White House Special Advisor to the President Tom Perez.
  • Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra.
  • California Senators Alex Padilla, Laphonza Butler, Washington Senator Maria Cantwell, and Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock.
  • Federal Transit Administration’s Paul Kincaid.
  • U.S. Department of Energy’s Alejandro Moreno.

Members of our delegation also headed to the hill and met with over 40 members of Congress, including Representatives Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, Robert Garcia, Linda Sanchez, Young Kim and Ted Lieu, among others.

Events like ACCESS D.C. underscore the benefits of partnership and collaboration. They give us a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with policy makers and ensure our voices are heard.

Next stop: Sacramento. Join the state advocacy trip on April 17-18. Register today.
