Los Angeles, Let's Turn Out in Numbers
October 8, 2026
by Maria S. Salinas

On November 3, Angelenos will head to the polls and make decisions that will shape our region for years to come. The leaders we elect and the measures we pass will touch nearly every part of our lives, from the cost of doing business to how quickly we build housing, how safe our streets are, and how well we prepare for 2028.
I have always believed that voting is one of the most important things we do as residents of this region. It is how we hold our leaders accountable. It is how we make sure the people making decisions at City Hall, at the County, and in Sacramento understand what our communities and our businesses need to thrive.
We should never take that right for granted. Free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy, and they only work when people take part. Generations fought for the right to cast a ballot, and the best way to honor that is to use it.
For our business community, what happens on Election Day is felt right away. Small business owners, employers of every size, and the workers who power our economy all live with the results. When we sit an election out, others decide for us. When we vote, we help set the direction for jobs, investment, and opportunity across Los Angeles.
That is why the Chamber put together our 2026 Voter Guide. It lays out where the Chamber stands on key measures, so you can make informed choices on the issues that matter most to our economy. It also provides endorsements on key races taken by the L.A. Jobs PAC. I encourage you to read it, share it with your colleagues and employees, and talk about it with your family.
Then, make your plan to vote:
- Ballots began mailing on October 5, so keep an eye on your mailbox.
- Voter registration closes October 19.
- Vote early by mail, at a secure ballot drop box, or in person. Find your voting location here.
- If you are mailing your ballot close to Election Day, ask for a USPS hand-stamped postmark.
Our region has a lot at stake this election. We are getting ready to welcome the world in 2028; we are still rebuilding after the wildfires, and we are committed to keeping Los Angeles a place where businesses can grow, create jobs, and where families can continue to call home. The choices we make this November will help decide how we get there.
Your vote is your voice. Let's make sure it's heard.
The election only weeks away. Los Angeles, you know the stakes. Let's roll up our sleeves and let's get this done. Let's make sure we turn out in numbers!
