A delegation from the L.A. Area Chamber, representing a broad spectrum of industries, joined us for our annual ACCESS L.A. City Hall advocacy day. The Chamber presented the Los Angeles City Council with the 10th Annual City Council Districts Economic Report prepared by Beacon Economics, which highlights economic trends across the City of Los Angeles.

A Legislative Update

Last Friday marked the close of the legislative session for the year. Gov. Gavin Newsom now has until Oct. 13 to sign or veto the hundreds of bills that reached his desk. Over the last few months, the Chamber has engaged on almost 50 bills across a range of issues that would impact the business community.

Global trade is key to the Los Angeles region. Since the renegotiation of NAFTA began, the L.A. Area Chamber has supported good faith talks and has advocated for the passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the resulting new trade agreement.
