Economic Mobility Initiative

The Economic Mobility Initiative (EMI) is your no-cost partner in starting and growing your dream venture. We empower LA County small business owners, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits by providing tailored support that helps you thrive and build generational wealth in our communities.

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a proud partner in this initiative and will offer training for small businesses in contracts and certifications through the OneLA Inclusive Procurement program.

What to expect in the program:

The objective of the OneLA program is to train small businesses and entrepreneurs so that they are better equipped to pursue necessary certification, as well as apply for, and win, contracting opportunities at the local, state, and federal level. By helping businesses procure government and private contracting opportunities, these programs will support the long-term growth, financial sustainability, and resiliency of small businesses. Please note: This program will be hybrid, and basic English proficiency is required.

Phase 1: Bootcamp

The boot camp is designed as a training program introducing participants to procurement and contracting practices in both public and private sectors. While the training will primarily focus on public sector contracting due to its transparent nature and structured bidding processes, it will also cover elements of private sector contracting.

Phase 2: Intensive Course

The "Intensive Course" is designed as a continuation from the boot camp, delving into each topic area in much greater detail and offering a comprehensive, interactive, and participatory learning experience.

Throughout the course, participants will receive all necessary materials and support to navigate each stage of the government bidding process, from understanding solicitations to assembling proposal packages.

Please register if you are interested in participating in this program and we will contact you with more details.
