Get in the Game

The Get in the Game Initiative, led by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, LISC Los Angeles, Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation, and Next Street, was launched in 2023 to connect economic opportunities with the diverse small business community in Los Angeles. Sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, the initiative aims to help local small and diverse businesses access over $150 billion expected to flow through L.A.'s regional procurement economy as the city prepares to host global sporting events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through a multi-pronged approach, the initiative positions local businesses for success by connecting them to resources and serving as a coordinator for local supplier development and procurement efforts. Its components include Supplier Development programs such as one-on-one advising, cohort programs, and specialized curricula to prepare small business suppliers; a Supplier Finance Fund to provide financial institutions with tools for supply chain financing and innovative capital products; a Procurement Innovation Forum to create a community of practice around supplier diversity and sourcing strategies; and Procurement Matchmaking fairs that directly connect suppliers with buyers from both the public and private sectors, including organizers of mega-events and infrastructure projects. Within three years, the initiative seeks to provide tailored support to over 1,000 small business suppliers, deploy more than $10 million in financing, and build buyer-supplier networks that generate over $100 million in contracts for small and diverse businesses.

1/28/2026 Port of Long Beach RFP: On-Call Photography Services

The Port of Long Beach recently advertised an RFP for On-Call Photography Services. Attached is a copy of the Notice of RFP, with information on the scope of services, schedule, and a link to access the RFP and related documents.

A few helpful reminders:

  1. Vendor Registration - All prospective vendors must be registered on PlanetBids to submit a proposal. See instructions and a video tutorial on how to register here.
  2. SBE Certification - The Port only accepts SBE certifications issued through the PlanetBids System, and by the State of California Department of General Services (DGS). To receive credit as an SBE/VSBE and to participate in the Port’s SBE/VSBE Program, all firms must hold a valid SBE certification issued by the Port or by CA DGS. For more information on the Port’s SBE/VSBE Program, please visit here.
  3. The Port of Long Beach utilizes National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) codes to identify specific product/services associated with each RFP.
