Join us for a meeting of the Transportation & Goods Movement Council.

Federal and Regional Updates: What's Happening In Transportation

Tuesday, May 2
10 - 11:30 a.m.

L.A. Area Chamber
350 S. Bixel St.
Los Angeles, CA 90017

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is a strong voice in developing regional transportation plans --implementing improvement projects and programs for six counties and the 191 cities that make up our region. Now that a transportation funding package has passed, join us to hear from SCAG's Executive Director Hasan Ikhrata on next steps and additional policies necessary to reach statewide goals.

We'll also hear a number of Metro-related updates, including:
  • Current news on high-occupancy toll (HOT) lane projects, known as ExpressLanes.
  • Progress of Metro's Policy Advisory
Committee (PAC), which was established to help review, comment and provide input on the draft Measure M Master Guidelines and the Long Range Transportation Plan.
  • Status of federal programs and how the new administration's budget impacts transportation infrastructure funding.

We will use these discussions to help shape our annual ACCESS, D.C. advocacy agenda. The trip is scheduled for May 22-24, 2017.

The Transportation & Goods Movement Council addresses all issues related to our region's mobility - highway, rail, air and transit. The Council advocates on federal, state and local issues and champions positions that will provide system-wide, regional solutions. The Council highlights the importance of transportation and goods movement to the region and nation's economy, while encouraging balanced and sustainable communities.

All Council meetings are open to Chamber members only. Media and guests are only allowed with prior approval.
