The Chamber convened a diverse group of business leaders, educators, and policymakers to discuss strengthening partnerships between businesses and educational institutions to prepare the workforce of the future.

Highlights

• California Department of Education Superintendent Tony Thurmond provided an inspiring keynote on the importance of collaboration with the private sector.
• LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D., and Los Angeles Rams Chief Commercial Officer Jen Prince joined a fireside chat to discuss their historic partnership. Moderated by Jaelyn Kwan, Partner at McKinsey & Company, the conversation shared insights on collaboration strategies that fuel growth, innovation, and expanded opportunities.
• Dr. Estela Zarate, Dean of the LMU School of Education, led a panel discussion on preparing the next generation to thrive in a dynamic global economy. Panelists included Dr. Eric Bullard, Dean of Continuing Education at UCLA Extension; Dr. Ann McElaney-Johnson, President of Mount Saint Mary's University; and Dr. Matthew Wunder, CEO & Superintendent of Da Vinci Schools.
• Attendees engaged in a discussion on trends reshaping employment, including remote work and Artificial Intelligence, and how businesses can adapt, thrive, and prepare their workforce for future challenges. Mark Louchheim, former L.A. Area Chamber Board Chair led the lively conversation which featured Mauritz deRidder, CEO of Beech Systems; Adel Villalobos, President & CEO of Lief Labs; and Dr. Chander Arora, Biotech Program Director at Los Angeles Mission College.
• We proudly recognized The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation for its invaluable support of Chamber’s work to deepen collaboration between business and education.

These discussions offered valuable insights on building impactful partnerships, fostering workforce readiness, and exploring workforce trends. They underscored the critical role of collaboration between the business and education sectors in creating pathways to prepare students for the evolving job market.
