In addition to the more than 300 events we host each year, we also offer a number of programs, resources and opportunities for engagement.  In order to get the most from your membership with the Chamber, we encourage you to become engaged in and take advantage of our many opportunities.

PUBLIC POLICY COUNCILS

Public Policy councils meet nine to 12 times each year and make recommendations to the Chamber's Executive Committee on important issues, including ballot measures. They also are an excellent way to network and access elected officials.

 Education & Workforce Development Council

Creates a strong business voice on the local, state and federal level to support education and job training systems that ensure every student and adult is prepared to succeed in tomorrow's economy.

 Energy, Water & Environmental Sustainability Council

Spurs clean and green tech innovations, ensure water and power delivery, and promote economic growth through sustainable, pro-jobs energy and environmental policies.

 Government & Fiscal Affairs Council

Serves as the Chamber’s primary council to evaluate legislation and policies that affect the broad business community and civic life including taxes, regulations and government reforms. The group will meet monthly to monitor and act on general business regulatory issues, and will focus on L.A. City public policy issues.

 Health Care Council

Advocates for policies that ensure responsible health care reform implementation, strengthen our County’s health care safety net and promote healthier lifestyles.

 Innovation & Technology Council

Identifies and engages with business clusters that have economic growth potential - including signature, emerging and innovative industry groups. The group aims to promote policies that will strengthen these industries, elevate their global reach, drive job creation and regional economic prosperity.

 Land Use, Construction & Housing Council

Advocates for policies and programs that create sustainable, economically robust communities through smart growth planning, public-private partnerships and investment in congestion relief solutions.

 Transportation & Goods Movement Council

The council advocates on federal, state and local issues and champions positions that will provide system-wide, regional solutions for issues related to our region's mobility — including highway, rail, air and transit. 

EDUCATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 Cash For College

As the regional organizers of the statewide Cash for College campaign, the Chamber enlists the business community to support its annual College and Career Convention and Financial Aid Completion Workshops which provide thousands of L.A. students and their families with the information and resources they need to apply for state and federal student aid. Volunteer opportunities are available. 

 L.A. Regional STEM Hub

Join the Chamber in supporting the L.A. region's first-ever science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) hub. The L.A. Regional STEM Hub connects the region's leading STEM professionals with educators in an effort to provide students with access to a high-quality STEM education and fulfilling careers.

 L.A. Youth at Work

The Chamber provides programs placing employment-ready youth in private sector internship and employment opportunities in our region. These programs help businesses gain access to qualified candidates and provide young adults with training and jobs skills to advance their education and career. Help support local youth by volunteering to facilitate a job skills workshop, conduct mock interviews or host a workshop.

 L.A. Compact

The L.A. Compact is a bold commitment by education, business, government, labor and nonprofit sectors to transform education outcomes from cradle to career, ensuring that today's youth have the skills necessary to compete and succeed in a 21st century global workforce. The L.A. Compact Business Council brings together leaders from L.A. area businesses to share best practices in business-education partnerships, collaborate on initiatives promoting career preparation and ensure education reform efforts are aligned with industry needs. 

 Pillar

Pillar is the business community's link to L.A.'s students, classrooms and schools. A partnership between the Chamber and the Los Angeles Unified School District, Pillar builds and supports partnerships between businesses and schools to strengthen education and develop the future workforce with programs such as Principal for a Day and Executive for a Day along with providing opportunities for job shadowing.

GLOBAL INITIATIVES OPPORTUNITIES

 Global Initiatives Council

Works to create employment opportunities throughout Southern California by increasing exports, imports and foreign investment for companies of all sizes, and for the communities in which they conduct business.

SMALL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

 Small Business Council

Brings together small business members to discuss common issues and share innovative solutions to challenges and opportunities facing small businesses.

 Small Business Owners Roundtable

Meets six times a year and connects small business owners to help them build relationships, discuss issues, share challenges and solutions to further develop their businesses.

BUSINESS CONNECTIONS OPPORTUNITIES

 Ambassador's Club

Member volunteers educate and involve other members in Chamber programs and services to maximize their membership investments. 

 Referral Network Breakfast

The monthly referral forum enables members to expand their contacts, develop strategic relationships and exchange legitimate business leads.

A comprehensive benefits program that helps lower overall costs by offering substantial discounts on the following everyday business products and services.

 Member Advantage

This member-to-member discount program allows members to offer discounts of between 10 and 50 percent on a wide range of goods and services to fellow member companies.  

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 Leadership L.A.

A nine-month program for individuals with expanding leadership roles in their organizations and communities.  Participants gain in-depth knowledge of challenges and opportunities shaping L.A. city and county, as well as hone their leadership and relationship building skills.

 Leadership Southern California

A 10-month leadership program for those who hold active leadership roles of regional significance in their civic and/or professional lives. LSC embodies the values of regional stewardship, experiential learning and a deep exposure to the people, places and trends shaping our region. Fellows travel to Los Angeles, Orange, Imperial, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties; and Sacramento.

 California Connections

Facilitates statewide civic engagement and building of new relationships. Connect on a statewide level and propel California in a positive direction through new and innovative partnerships.

 Riordan Leadership Institute

This unique program empowers early- to mid-career professionals for lifelong community engagement through service on nonprofit boards.

 NextLA

Formerly known as the L.A. Junior Chamber of Commerce, NexLA inspires, prepares and connect L.A.’s Young Professionals for the future. Professional development. Civic engagement. And meeting a LOT of incredible people!

 Bixel Exchange

A new technology center housed at the Chamber, Bixel Exchange is a partnership between the Chamber and the Small Business Administration's Smal Business Development Center - leveraging the power and proven track record of both organizations. Launched in 2013, Bixel Exchange aims to serve an ever-evolving and dynamic market by providing mentors and advisors, information and education, and connections to people and resources within the technology and business realms.
