L.A. Jobs PAC Endorses Adeena Bleich for L.A. City Council

LOS ANGELES, CA – The L.A. Jobs Political Action Committee (PAC) sponsored by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Adeena Bleich for Los Angeles City Council, District 5.  In the coming weeks leading up to the election, the L.A. Area Chamber, which represents more than 1,600 businesses in the greater Los Angeles region, will communicate with its members about the significance of this open City Council race and its endorsement of Ms. Bleich.

"At this critical moment in our city’s economy and quality of life, our PAC felt is was important to endorse a candidate at this stage in the campaign" said Gary Toebben, President & CEO, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.  "While there is a large group of capable candidates in this race, Adeena Bleich is the best candidate to fight for good-paying jobs, fiscal responsibility at City Hall and smart solutions to traffic gridlock.”

"I am exceptionally proud to have the endorsement of the L.A. Jobs PAC,” said Adeena Bleich. “The L.A. Area Chamber’s work is critical not only to the business community, but to all Angelenos.  I look forward to working with the Chamber and its members to create jobs and keep L.A. competitive in the 21st century.”

The decision to endorse Adeena Bleich for L.A. City Council was reached by the L.A. Jobs PAC Board of Trustees after interviewing all six candidates at a meeting on Friday, January 23, 2009.  In reaching its decision, the PAC noted that Ms. Bleich was sharply focused on business issues and demonstrated the independence needed to make challenging decisions related to the fiscal health of the city.  In addition the interviews conducted by the PAC Board of Trustees, the Chamber also co-hosted a candidates’ forum for all qualified candidates on January 12, 2009, which will be available for viewing citywide on Time Warner Cable’s On Demand video service beginning February 1, 2009.
