August 5, 2009 11:00 am
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce salutes Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton for his committed service to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the businesses and residents of Los Angeles.
“Chief Bratton is an effective leader who has revitalized the Los Angeles Police Department over the past seven years,” said Fran Inman, L.A. Area Chamber Board Chair and SVP, Majestic Realty Co. “The L.A. Area Chamber thanks him for his dedication and successful efforts to reduce crime and enhance public safety in our city. We also commend him for implementing the changes needed to terminate the need for a federal consent decree overseeing the department. Chief Bratton is a true leader who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him.”
The L.A. Area Chamber strongly supported Bratton’s re-appointment to a second five-year term. The Chamber will continue to work closely with the department in lobbying for federal investments for public safety and supporting local gang reduction programs and activities.
