L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce Statement on John Perez Becoming Next Speaker of the Assembly

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce applauds California State Assembly Democrats today for selecting John Perez to succeed Karen Bass as the next Speaker of the Assembly.
“We congratulate Speaker-Elect John Perez and thank Speaker Bass for all of her great work,” said Gary Toebben, President & CEO, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. “With so many challenges facing California, we look forward to partnering with our new speaker to create jobs and address the state’s budget problems.”
Perez is a native Angeleno who will be a key asset for Los Angeles in Sacramento. He is set to be confirmed in a floor vote in early January.
