LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce congratulated Chamber Chair Matthew Toledo today for his recent appointment to the High-Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Toledo, 48, has served as President & Publisher of the Los Angeles Business Journal since 1994 and has been involved in many efforts to improve Los Angeles and California including in 2010 as Chair of the Board of Directors of the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce.
“We are proud and delighted that Matt has been appointed by Gov. Schwarzenegger to the High-Speed Rail Authority,” said Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben. “As our chair, Matt has been at the forefront of improving transportation in California and we can anticipate the positive impact he will have on this project.”
Gov. Schwarzenegger recently announced Toledo’s appointment, along with that of Thomas Richards and the reappointment of Curt Pringle to the HSRA.
“California high-speed rail is ushering in a new era of economic and environmental leadership for our state, and ensuring that it is completed successfully and at the lowest cost to taxpayers is of the highest importance to me,” Schwarzenegger said. “I know that Curt, Thomas and Matthew all have the vision, commitment and qualifications to move this project forward, and I look forward to watching this historic high-speed rail system become a reality.”
